My name is Jennifer Secor. I am married to Thomas, my better half in every way possible! We met when he was 14 and I was 10 and we are an arranged marriage (haha…but seriously our parents got together one Sunday and decided it needed to happen). We have a six year old boy, a four year old boy and boy/girl twins who are a year. The twins were a complete surprise and the biggest blessing in a time that we needed some good news.
I have always loved service! I think this life can be difficult at times and we can all use a little help along the way. I also think the best way to get through a difficult time is to lose yourself in the service of others!
I was taught by my Mother at a young age to look for people to help. I remember one night we were driving home and we drove past a man who was walking with a grocery cart. My mom pulled up along side him and asked if he had dinner. The man responded that he had not eaten in awhile so my Mom asked him to wait there and said she would be back in about 15 minutes. We went home and boxed up the dinner we were planning on eating that night along with a sack lunch for the next day and some clothes. What a great example of service! It had a huge impact on my life even at such a young age! I think its also a great reminder that you don’t realize how much your kids are watching you. My dad has always been known as a great storyteller! So why not combine the best of both worlds and create a blog about stories of service.
