Bravelets is an online jewelry store with a cause. It was founded in January of 2012 by Stephanie Hansen. In 4 short years, Bravelets has donated over $2 million to non-profits and community organizations across the US.
Stephanie created Bravelets after her mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Stephanie was looking for a way for her family members to wear something that was symbolic and unifying in the weeks leading up to her mothers Mastectomy, a symbol that they could all look at and remember to be brave. That is when the idea of Bravelets was born.
With the mission of helping people “be brave” through difficult times, Bravelets is quickly becoming a leader in the Social Good For-Profit space. For every item of jewelry purchased, $10 is donated to the associated cause. They are currently working with over 4,000 non-profits, and they have donated $2,275,920 to date.
“There are times in all of our lives where we need to be brave – whether for ourselves, for our family, for our friends, or even for a complete stranger. Bravelets™ bracelets are more than just something to wear on your wrist. They are a symbol of hope, strength and courage. They are designed to help you be brave in the toughest of times.”
As you go to their website you can pick which cause you would like to support according to its designated color. I purchased the silver/grey Rosa Bracelet (pictured below) to support finding a cure for brain cancer. My sister Jessica is the inspiration for this blog and you can read about her here. Jess and my father in law are both battling brain cancer right now. My husband and I bought a Bravelet to not only help show them our support but also to donate to help finding the cure.
Bravelets has issued Inspirational Strangers a coupon code for 10% off any item (excluding charms) from 4/15/16-5/15/16. Click here to visit Bravelets site and enter coupon code INSPIRE10 at checkout.
